Briarwood Estates is thrilled to present the announcement of Briarwood Stables and Briarwood Kennels.
Briarwood Stables is proud to offer a full care facility designed to house 32 horses. The barn is staffed with full-time employees who live on the property, meaning there is never a time when your horse is left alone. Our on-site barn manager has extensive experience managing the needs of performance horses, young, senior horses, and horses that need rehabilitation. Boarding includes daily turnout in individual paddocks. Upon returning to their stall, the horses are either groomed or showered depending on the weather. At Briarwood Stables we offer personalized care for each horse in our facility. We firmly believe that each horse is an individual and should be taken care of that way. Your horse's nutritional, turnout, and fitness programs will be planned with you upon move-in and modified as your horse's needs change.
We invite you to visit our facility to speak personally with our manager starting 9/15.

- Trail Rides: Trail rides are for equestrians of all ages. Trail rides are walk only and on gentle horses. Many rides are within Briarwood Estates’ expansive nature-based collection of sims. Explorer trail rides take place at various locations across the grid. We strive to find the most unique places to explore each week.
- Beginners Dressage: A first look for novice riders on the art of Dressage, learning what it is, how it is done in SL’s equine community and a comprehensive introduction to the arenas, Mythril Dressage HUD, alternative HUDs, Dressage tack, dietary needs of show horses and anything related to starting out as a performing horse and rider.
- Basics of Western Riding: Learn the basics of Western Riding. We will work on learning the different gaits, styles and speeds included in Western Riding, as well as working on agility and control of your horse. We will also learn some timed rodeo activities, including Pole Bending, Barrel Racing and Cow Penning. We will learn some basic Reining in this class as well as Western Trail.
- You will need to have a horse which has the Mythril Western Animation set loaded into it and Western tack on your horse. If you do not have this, or are not ready to invest in it, there is a horse rezzer available at the arena which has a selection of horses that do have the Western Animations and tack which you are welcome to use.
- This class is meant to be a fun introduction to Western Riding. Riders of all levels are welcome to attend.
CURRENT CLASSES OFFERED
- Show Jumping: Equestrian show jumping is an exhilarating discipline within the realm of horse riding, combining athleticism, precision, and finesse. Riders guide their equine partners through a course comprising a series of obstacles, aiming to clear each one without fault within the allotted time. This class demands harmony between horse and rider, as they navigate a course that tests their agility, speed, and accuracy.
- Cross Country: Equestrian cross country jumping is a thrilling and challenging discipline that tests the bravery, athleticism, and partnership between horse and rider over varied natural terrain. Unlike the controlled environment of the show jumping arena, cross country courses are set outdoors across fields, forests, and water obstacles, providing an exhilarating test of horsemanship and courage. Don't have a horse? No problem – we've got horses available for you to borrow. Lessons are taught in voice.
- Intermediate/ Advanced Dressage: Do you wanna take your dressage skills to the next level? Does competing and testing sounds intriguing to you? - Then this class is for you. In the Briarwood Dressage class 'Intermediate-Advanced' we're going to go through all the more challenging moves and requirements needed to participate in higher levels tests around the Equestrian community. You will need to have a horse which has the Mythril Dressage system and proper dressage tack and rider apparel (Riding boots and helmet). If you do not have this, or are not ready to invest in it, there is a horse rezzer available at the arena which has a selection of horses that do have the Mythril Dressage System.
- Hunter & Equitation: The origin of the show ring hunter can be found in the sport of fox-hunting where horse and rider galloped over miles of countryside with varying terrain negotiating natural obstacles (fences, hedges, stone walls) encountered along the way while in the pursuit of the game. Modern hunter classes were designed to test the qualities and attributes of a successful hunt horse. These classes are subjectively judged based on the horse’s performance over fences as well as its quality of movement under saddle on the flat. Show hunters should possess good style over the jumps, consistent pace throughout the course, as well as quiet manners. Hunter rounds should appear smooth and effortless to the spectator with the horse and rider working together to make the course flow from one jump to the next.
